“A Good Word at Work” By Doug Fincher

March 18, 2018 - "…….strengthen thy brethren."  Luke 22:32

My brother Joe called last week saying he had taken a three month job at the chemical plant he retired from eight years ago. "I'm teaching the new workers what I know about ethylene and trying to walk like a young man again," he laughed. He said he was moved to tears when the men all welcomed him back with their hugs and handshakes. "Most of the younger men are good workers but there's one "boy" that stands out among all the others," he said.

He called the young man in one day, complimented him on his good work and predicted a good future for him. The young man's eyes filled with tears as he repeatedly thanked my brother for his words. While Joe was in the cafeteria one day, the young man walked in and said, "Mr. Fincher, I want to thank you again for your words of encouragement."

A little encouragement goes a long way…whether it's a touch on the shoulder, a hug or a sincere handshake. Sadly, there's a myriad of neglected people the world over who never get any encouragement……and just as sad that many the world over…

….. never give any.
