$300,000 in Bonds Set for Fourth Arrest in Beating, Kidnapping

Charles Lynn Edwards, Jr.January 17, 2017 - A fourth suspect implicated in the beating and robbery of a man has been arrested and is being held in the Shelby County Jail.

Charles Lynn Edwards, Jr., 32, of Timpson was booked into the Shelby County Jail January 13, 2017 and is being held on a total of $300,000 in bonds. The charges include aggravated robbery, felony 1, $100,000; aggravated kidnapping, felony 1, $100,000; and engaging in organized criminal activity, felony 1, $100,000. Edwards was captured following the request for information via a Shelby County Sheriff/Center Crime Stoppers press release.

The incident in which Edwards implicated in is a beating and kidnapping reported to have taken place on December 13, 2016 allegedly involving Kevin Askew, Morgan Magee, and Tobby Mardis. Edwards is identified in the report as having been one of two other individuals involved in stripping the victim naked and tying the victim up with an electrical cord.

Edwards is being held on the highest bond amounts yet set for any of the suspects allegedly involved in this case.
