August 11, 2017 - The Tenaha Youth Center will host the third annual Back-to-School Bash on August 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Tenaha.
Last year, thanks to contributions from many local businesses and organizations, over 300 Shelby County children were provided with much needed school supplies. This year we hope to serve nearly 500 students!
The Tenaha Youth Center is calling on Shelby County businesses, merchants and organizations to please consider making a donation because statics show that a large percentage of children in our community live under the poverty level and need outside assistance to help them achieve a good education. Your help will make a positive impact on many young lives in our county!
There are many ways in which you may contribute:
- Monetary Donations -- Tax deductible checks can be written to the Tenaha Youth Center and noted for Back-to-School Bash. Mail your donation to the center at 3576 US HWY 84 E., Tenaha, Texas 75974, or call the number above and we will pick up your donation from your business.
- Supply Donations -- Supplies can be purchased and dropped off at the Tenaha City Hall, Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. -If you would like to purchase supplies but the times or places don't work for you, please call and we will schedule a pick up at your address.
- Church Donation Collections -- Several of the local churches will be collecting for the event as well. If your church would like to collect for this, they may contact Jimmy Bowlin at the phone number listed above.
- Volunteers -- Workers are needed and welcomed to participate during the event set-up on Friday, August 11th afternoon and evening or at the church during the time of the event on August 12th.
Contributing businesses may use this event to advertise their product or business with advertisement signs, brochures, displays, etc. at Tenaha First Baptist church of Tenaha during the Back-to-School Bash event from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
