December 7, 2018 - The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension hosted adult quilting classes taught by professional quilter Margaret Smith in November which included using a regular home sewing machine and how to use a commercial long arm quilting machine.

During the long arm quilting machine class participants had the opportunity to learn how to load the machine with quilt pieces, machine care and maintenance, threading, and free motion quilting.

Quilters who completed the group session have the opportunity to schedule a 2-hour one-on-one class to practice free motion quilting on their own quilt top.

Once quilters have their certification, they may rent use of the AgriLife Extension's long arm quilting machine on an hourly basis for their personal use.
