Adult Valentine Pastry Class to be Offered

January 22, 2019 - Want to learn how to make amazing pastries and desserts for Valentine’s Day?  Looking for that perfect gift for that special cook in the family?  Or perhaps, a fun date night with that someone special.  

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension will be hosting a two-day adult pastry class on February 5 and 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Shelby County Extension office, 266 Nacogdoches Street, Center.  This hands-on class and tasting will be taught by professional pastry chef, Michele Clark. Participants will be making and taking chocolate mousse, sponge cake, chocolate glaze and white chocolate décor. Cost for this 2-session course is only $30 per person. All supplies will be provided, just bring an apron if you desire. Registration and fee due by February 1, 2019.  The class is limited to 10 adult participants, and registration and check are required in advance.  

Our guest pastry chef is Michele Clark who is a Le Cordon Bleu trained pastry chef with over 20 years’ experience as a chef at various bakeries and restaurants. Before moving to Center with her family, she was an assistant pastry chef at the MGM hotel in Las Vegas where she created pastry masterpieces for clientele. Michele is currently serving as a 4-H Food and Nutrition project leader where she works with youth learning kitchen and food life skills.  She is also a certified Master Wellness Volunteer with AgriLife and is the Women on the Go club director.
