Alzheimer's Disease Education By Alzheimer's Association/Lunch and Learn

September 13, 2022 – Shelby County residents and members of the community are invited to attend a Lunch & Learn educational event on the impact of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and memory loss in the workplace and on our community. The event will take place at the AgriLife Extension Office on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, beginning at 12 noon.

This program will address how employees becoming caregivers may effect performance and participation in the workplace and the work-related changes experienced by Alzheimer’s caregivers. The presentation will also include Alzheimer’s Association resources and information on how to get involved in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.

“Alzheimer’s disease is a growing concern.” Sabrina Strawn, Community Engagement Manager with the Alzheimer’s Association, said in a statement. “We invite everyone to join us so we can share vital information about the effects of Alzheimer’s disease in the workplace and provide support for the Shelby County community.”

Education programs hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association bring together individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease with dedicated staff and volunteers to open conversation in an effort to bolster resources, programs and services to support families in their communities. The event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided.
