Back To School Coming Soon For Tenaha Tigers

August 8, 2017 - August has begun and that means school will begin soon for Tenaha students. The Roarin’ Band from Tigerland band began their practices this month. Brian Sours, Band Director, reported a large turnout to this year’s band camp of over 70 students.

Football has also seen a large turn out with 52 reporting to practices. This year the Tenaha football program has high hopes of returning to the State Championship. That means hard work for the team and coaches.  

Football and Band are not the only ones working hard! The Tenaha ISD administrators have diligently worked to prepare for the upcoming school year. Teachers will return to campus on August 14th for staff development and work days. The students will return for their first day on August 28th.
 
Students and parents should be aware that there have been a several changes initiated for the 2017-2018 school year. There have been several changes to the bell schedule. The building will open for students at 7:20am. Breakfast now begins at 7:30am with the first bell to begin classes to ring at 7:55am. The tardy bell will ring at 8am. Parent pick-up for Elementary students begins at 3:30 and the dismissal bell for all other students will ring at 3:44pm. Students and parents are invited to Meet the Teacher to find out more about what the upcoming school year will bring.   

Meet the Teacher will be held on August 24th from 4pm to 5:30pm. Elementary students may bring school supplies to leave in classroom. Junior High and High School students may pick up their schedules.

Tenaha ISD faculty and staff are looking forward to an exciting and productive 2017-2018 school year.
