Bossier Sheriff's Office Seeking Help to Locate Missing Benton Man (Found)

On August 14, 2018 the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department reported on Facebook that the body found in Mississippi is believed to be the missing Benton man.

A body found this morning in a field off Highway 16 near Benton, Miss., is believed to be a missing Benton man, according to detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.

Shawn “Corey” King, 32, of Benton, La, went missing back on August 3, and Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives traveled to Mississippi this morning to assist with the investigation after King’s truck was found wrecked and abandoned on the 12000 block of Highway 16. His body was found earlier today not far from where the wreck occurred. King’s family has been notified.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Office will conduct the investigation.


August 13, 2018 - The Bossier Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help in locating a Benton man who has been missing since August 3.

Shawn Corey King, 32, of the 2000 block of Chelsy Drive in Benton, was last seen in his black 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe (LA license plate 914AVZ) at a gas station near Louisiana Downs around 8:30 p.m. Friday night. Bossier detectives say he may also be driving a 2016 black and silver Harley Davidson motorcycle. Corey was supposed to start a new job in Ruston on Aug. 6, but he had not returned home to get his bag that he had begun to pack for his trip. His family is concerned for his welfare.

Corey is described as a white male, 5' 8", 128 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. He is known to have ties to Desoto and Sabine Parishes.
