Carthage Hosting Bobby Bare in Concert on June 3rd

Bobby BareMay 23, 2017 - Country Music Hall of Fame member, Bobby Bare, will perform in concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd in the Carthage Civic Center. Also appearing will be his friends Leroy VanDyke, Tony Booth, Dallas Wayne, Melissa Luman and Jake Penrod.

Bare is best known for his recordings of “Detroit City,” “Ride Me Down Easy,” “Marie Laveau,” “Four Strong Winds,” “500 Miles Away From Home” and “Miller’s Cave.” He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.

Leroy VanDyke’s recordings of “Walk On By” and “The Auctioneer” each sold over one million copies and the Missouri native was named “Entertainer of the Decade” in the 1960s.

Tony Booth began his career as a featured artist on the Buck Owens Show and his hits include “The Key’s in the Mailbox” and “Cinderella.”

Dallas Wayne is heard daily on Sirius XM’s “Willie’s Roadhouse” and “Outlaw Country.” He was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015.

Jake Penrod, a native of Brownsboro, Texas, has been named “Honky Tonk Artist of the Year” and “Pure Country Vocalist of the Year” at the recent Ameripolitan and Academy of Western Artists Awards presentation. He has written more than 250 songs and is proficient on 14 instruments.

Melissa Luman is the daughter of the late Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and Rockabilly Hall of Fame inductee Bob Luman. Melissa resides in the Nashville, Tennessee, area and performs frequently with “The Second Generation,” a group of the children of country music stars.
