Center FFA Takes Grand Champion and Reserve Grand at East Texas Poultry Festival

October 10, 2016 - On Saturday, 15 Center FFA students travelled to the East Texas Poultry Festival to compete against 82 exhibitors from across Shelby County. In one of the hardest poultry shows in the state of Texas, Center FFA students did an AMAZING job! We would like to congratulate these students on working so hard with their projects!

Poultry projects are a 6-week project where students raise 30 baby chicks from hatch date in hopes of getting them as large as possible in the time frame given. This project takes constant supervision of the birds but, if done right, students are eligible for the sale where they will be rewarded for their efforts! Chicken projects are judged on overall size and uniformity.

Center FFA results are as follows:

Grand Champion: Macade Perry
Reserve Grand Champion: Mason Perry
4th Overall: Logan Holloway
10th: Lance Holloway
20th: Grant Gregory
24th: Logan Speedy
29th: Kaden LaRock
