April 9, 2024 - Congratulations to the Center High School CTE Graphic Art students who participated in the 3rd annual New Talent 24 Visual Arts competition for the spring semester at Kilgore College.
Kate Galvan and Sydney Schriewer were selected out of 90 students to display their design and art pieces at the Anne Dean Turk Fine Art Gallery space on the Kilgore College campus. Over 200+ art pieces from 15 different East Texas schools were selected and only 40 were displayed at the gallery.
Of the 40, Kate Galvan won 3rd place in the senior category and was awarded the $800 scholarship prize. Other graphic design students in the Junior category that participated were Edith Stokes, Clover King, and Kritika Patel. The NEW TALENT '24 Exhibition will be open to the public at Kilgore College's Anne Dean Turk Fine Art Gallery from now until April 18, 2024. New Talent 24 is a juried visual art competition organized by the Visual Arts Department of Kilgore College. The works selected for exhibition have been created by area high schools students emerging onto the college stage of higher art education.
