Center Intermediate and Middle School Students Explore TAME

January 21, 2015 - Center Intermediate and Middle School students explored the TAME mini-science and technology museum on wheels last Tuesday, January 13th and Wednesday, January 14th. The Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering (TAME) is a statewide project to encourage students to explore careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Center High School honor students explained to the younger students the science behind each experiment. The students were able to experiment in a hands on way that made it a memorable experience. Even though it was two of our coldest and dreariest days, students’ spirits were high as they rotated through the trailer listening to the older students and participating in the experiments.

The project was brought to Center by the Fannie Brown Booth Library through a grant received by the Brown Foundation of Houston and the Temple Foundation of Lufkin. Center ISD principals, Heath Hagler, Matt Gregory, and Dr. Tammy Lemoine, asst. superintendent at Center ISD, organized the program for the students.
