Letter from Center ISD Superintendent James Hockenberry
February 12, 2019 - Center ISD extends scheduled Friday holiday to allow for a deep cleaning due to noticed escalation of illnesses with students and faculty. School is out Friday, February 15th through Tuesday, February 19th. Students will return on Wednesday, February 20th.
Extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled and a makeup day is not necessary.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Over the past couple of weeks, we have noticed an escalation of illnesses with our students and faculty. Although we are not experiencing the extraordinarily large numbers like other districts, there is enough concern that we should take proactive measures before the problem grows. Deep cleaning is warranted. Furthermore, we need to evaluate our buildings for areas susceptible to bats colonizing and address such areas. The district needs as much uninterrupted time as possible to complete the above tasks. So, we will be taking advantage of the upcoming long weekend and closing the schools on Tuesday, February 19 to go along with the schedule student holidays on Friday, February 15 and Monday, February 18. In doing so, students will return to school on Wednesday, February 20. Extracurricular Activities will go on as scheduled and a makeup day is not necessary.

Por lo tanto, aprovecharemos el fin de semana largo y cerrarcmos las cscuelas el Martes, 19 de Febrcro para it junto con las vacaciones ya programadas del Viemes, 15 de Febrero y el Lunes. 18 dc Febrero. Al haccr csto, los estudiantes regresaran a la escuela el Miercoles, 20 de Febrero. Las actividades extracurriculares continuaran segan lo programado y no sra es necesario recuperar el dia.
