  • Kind and considerate of others
  • Helpful to teachers and peers
  • Punctual
  • Strives to be a better student
  • Exemplifies the qualities of Give Me Five

Following are our first nine week's Students Who Make A Difference:

Left to right: Valeria Garcia and Greydon Mitchell

Greydon Mitchell - 6th grader
Mrs. Doggett said - Greydon diligently works to achieve a mastery level on everything he does in ELAR class. He works quietly while showing compassion and leadership in our classroom. When you think of 'Give Me 5", you should think of Greydon Mitchell! I am honored to be his ELAR teacher this year!

Valeria Garcia - 6th grader

Mrs. Doggett said - Valeria is such a joy to have in class. She has really worked hard and is showing growth in Reading and Writing. I am so proud of how she "puts her head down" and works hard. She has a wonderful attitude and I consider her to be a leader in our classroom. I am honored to be her ELAR teacher this year!

Left to right: Carson Crouch and Colby Lout

Carson Crouch - 7th grader

Mrs. Burns said - Carson has such a sweet spirit. She is just a joy to have in my classroom. She is always willing to help out any way she can. She is a leader at school by example. She sets the bar high in our classroom to achieve as much as she can. Super motivated to learn and study and always do her best. I look forward to seeing her go above and beyond her goals in her future.

Colby Lout - 7th grader

Mrs. Burns said - Colby is the one of the kindest students I have ever known. He always makes a point to speak to adults or hold a door for them. Every day as he leaves class he says, "Have a good day Mrs. Burns". He does his best work in class and always polite to his classmates as well. If he doesn't understand a question, he cares enough to ask about it. He takes chances and always tries his best. I have noticed these things about Colby even before he was in my class. Last year as a 6th grader he was always polite and greeted me each day. Can't wait to see where his future leads him. He is a wonderful young man.

Left to right: Renee Gomez, Lisandra Santos

Lisandra Santos - 8th grader

Mrs. Williams said - Lisandra is a very quiet and unassuming student, yet possesses hidden talents which will amaze most people. She is very artistic with her sketches and drawings by making personalized greeting cards for any occasion which are relevant to the recipient. She’s always willing and ready to do whatever is asked of her and she puts her heart and soul into the task at hand. Lisandra is a “student who makes a difference”.

Renee Gomez - 8th grader

Mrs. Williams said - Rene is that rare student that comes along who is dedicated and driven to learning in the classroom, but also beyond the classroom. She excels in everything she does and is never satisfied with less than her best. Renee was on my UIL Spelling team in 7th grade and came in everyday to practice. She is now in my 8th grade science class and exhibits the same character traits there - excellence above mediocre. Renee is truly a “student who makes a difference."
