April 23, 2018 - Due to potential severe weather on Saturday, April 21st, the Nacogdoches vs. Riders baseball game was canceled. No make-up date to be played. The Riders are 11-0 in district with one game left in the regular season.
Center Roughriders Take 4-1 Victory Over Carthage
Center took home a 4-1 victory and the series sweep over Carthage on Friday night at The Horseshoe. Carthage opened up scoring in the first inning, when Gunner Capps doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. The Riders pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. Alejandro Flores singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and Logan Mitchell homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs. Jaxon Covington got the win for Center. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out nine and walking one. Austin Glaze took the loss for Carthage. He lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out five. Tyler Fountain started the game for the Roughriders. He surrendered one run on one hit over two innings, striking out three. Flores, Mitchell, Covington, Dalton Alexander, and Clay Snider each collected one hit to lead the Riders. Dylan Leach led Carthage with two hits in three at bats.
