Child Involved in Shelby County Crash in Houston Hospital

July 27, 2018 - State Highway 87 North at FM 1645 was the scene of a major two-vehicle crash Thursday, July 26, which has put one child in a hospital in Houston.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Trooper Taylor Buster, at 5pm, a grey 1998 International truck-tractor driven by Aubrey Dionyell Lacy, 37, of Center was traveling north on SH 87. A tan 2015 Jeep SUV driven by Sandra Zamarron, 23, of Tenaha reportedly disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 87 and FM 1645 West and was struck by the truck-tractor. 

No citations have been reported at this time. No injuries were reported of Lacy at the scene. 

Zamarron had three child passenger age two, three and four. All were transported by ACE EMS to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Additional reports from Texas DPS indicate the four-year-old child is currently at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston for treatment.

Center Fire Department directed traffic at the scene until it was clear. Trooper Buster was assisted with the investigation by Trooper Dustin Ramos.
