CMS Students Adopt Houston-area School; Seeking Donations

September 4, 2017 - CMS Students ask for community donations to help supply a Houston-area school following hurricane Harvey.

CMS Junior Chamber of Commerce and Junior BETA Club have joined forces to adopt a school affected by the storm. Goodson Middle School, with a population of over 1200, is located in Cypress, Texas. CMS is planning to collect donations for the students to help in making the beginning of the school year a bit easier.

The 'Adopt A School' program was organized through an online Facebook group, Principal Principles, a collaboration of administrators from all over the U. S. including many schools in the Houston and surrounding areas most affected by the hurricane.

Goodson Middle School is in need of supplies, including pencils, colored pencils, notebook paper, drawstring backpacks, earbuds, 1" binders, and 3"x5" note cards. Every little bit will help.

Students will begin collecting donations after Labor Day.

Sixth graders will turn in their donations to Mrs. Sanford, seventh graders to Mrs. Burns, and eighth graders to Mrs. Andrews. Community donations can be dropped off at the CMS front office.
