Constable Brings Halt to Fleeing Subject

December 24, 2018 - A Sheriff's Department vehicle chase came to a halt late December 22, 2018 when a Shelby County Constable and Tenaha Police Department Unit brought the fleeing vehicle to a stop.

Shelby County Sheriff's Deputy Taylor Fanguy was pursuing the white Dodge truck through the streets of Timpson until it finally made a run toward Tenaha from Bear Drive onto U.S. Highway 59 North.

At that time Jake Metcalf, Constable Precinct 4, and Kurtes Lawrence, Tenaha Police Department, converged on the location with Deputy Fanguy and all three turned down Railroad Avenue just behind the white truck.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Keith Jones, at 10:40pm a white 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 owned by Michael Nichols and driven by Ashley Nicole Pavlock, 30, of Timpson turned left onto Railroad Avenue off U.S. 59.

The Dodge was struck in the rear left with the front of a black 2017 Ford Explorer owned by Shelby County and driven by Jake Metcalf, Precinct 4 Constable, as he made a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver on the Dodge.

The Dodge then slid around and a black 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Tenaha Police Department unit driven by Kurtes Lawrence struck the driver's side door of the Dodge as all vehicles came to rest in the roadway.

Once the officers retreived Pavlock from the truck she was arrested and transported to the Shelby County Jail on charges of evading arrest, felony 4; criminal non support, felony 3; driving while license invalid (DWLI) - enhanced with prior convictions for DWLI to a class b misdemeanor; expired registration, misdemeanor c; no insurance, misdemeanor c.
