September 18, 2018 - Shelby Constable for Precinct 3, Roy Cheatwood, is reporting the recovery in the Joaquin area of a stolen vehicle out of Nacogdoches County.

Constable Cheatwood states he has been searching for the location of the vehicle after getting a hit on it in the area. He was contacted just before 8am on September 17, 2018 by an individual preparing a hunting site on CR 3267 who discovered the van in the vicinity.

Upon arrival at the location, Constable Cheatwood reports he ran the information on the van, a white 2005 Ford Freestar, and it came back to a stolen van from Allen Funeral Home in Nacogdoches. Cheatwood contacted the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, and Investigator Mandy Fears was dispatched to assist in the recovery as well as Newton Johnson, Jr., Deputy Constable Precinct 3.

Smith Towing & Recovery removed the vehicle from the scene and Nacogdoches authorities will now continue the investigation into the stolen vehicle since it's been recovered.

Constable Cheatwood thanked the citizens for their help with locating this stolen vehicle.
