August 29, 2016 - San Augustine Go-Texan will be hosting the first annual "Country in the Pines" event October 1st at the San Augustine Fair Grounds (1109 Oaklawn St.). There will be a IBCA Sanctioned BBQ Cookoff. Entry will be $125 per team, with an extra $20 for Friday night. This will be an open competition with a 90% payback on 3 majors (Chicken, Prok and Brisket) with a $1000 added money to Overall Champion. Teams can arrive Friday for set up.
Joe Cuellar will be opening at 3:00pm. Followed by Warren Smyrl and Jeff Havard of the South First Band Acoustic, Johnny Riley and the Delta Beats, and Jody Booth to close starting at 9:00pm. $35 entry for a single ticket, $60 for a couple ticket.
