DA, JP Dismiss Felony Case Against Former Shelbyville ISD Coach

January 9, 2018 - Stephen Shires, District Attorney, and Melissa Crouch, Justice of the Peace precinct 1 dismissed a felony charge against Jason Ferguson, former Shelbyville ISD Athletic Director, for assault family violence- occlusion.

Ferguson was arrested on September 28, 2016 and was accused at that time of assaulting his wife.

The basis of the request for dismissal by DA Shires was Ferguson had successfully completed a pretrial diversion program.

According to a Shelby County Court filing on December 12, 2017 by Ferguson's attorney, he is seeking expunction of public records of the charge against him.

At this time a ruling has not yet been made on the expunction.
