Delta Gamma April Meeting Celebrates 67th Birthday

On April 17, 1948 the Delta Gamma Chapter began when 14 key women teachers from Sabine, San Augustine, and Shelby Counties met at the Polley Hotel in Center, Texas with Dr. Eula Lee Carter, the Texas state founder who first organized The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

Today this celebrated association is organized in 17 countries and represents approximately 80,000 of the world's most respected women educators. Texas boasts more than 9,000 members in nearly 300 chapters.
