March 10, 2017 - Paper was developed almost 2000 years ago and most written records have been kept on it ever since. These written records can last many hundreds of years...or not.
As we all know, paper which is handled frequently deteriorates and little can be done to prevent the records on the paper eventually being lost. But not anymore. The Shelby County District Clerk's Office is doing something about it. District Clerk Lori Oliver will speak to the Timpson Area Genealogical and Heritage Society's March meeting about a new process her office is using to protect and stabilize the county's irreplaceable paper records.
TAGHS invites the public to learn more about this project at their monthly meeting next Wednesday, March 15, at 2PM in the meeting room of the Timpson Public Library, located on the corner of Austin and Bremond Streets in downtown Timpson.
