Double Yellow Lines Painted on Fair Drive

June 15, 2017 - Double yellow lines are now painted on Fair Drive next to the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library affirming the once one-way street is now a two-way street. The two-way traffic gives an additional access point from Tenaha Street to the parking lot of the library and the Center City Park.

The City of Center Council approved changing the Tenaha Street side of Fair Drive to two-way traffic to access the library and city park parking lot at their May 22, 2017 regular council meeting. Included in the ordinance was adding the south side of Henrietta as well as Childs Street to the list of no parking locations. Appropriate signage will be placed to deter the necessity for any enforcement.

The City of Center announced in February Fair Street would be closed to through traffic for the new Portacool Park expansion at the Center City Park on Tenaha Street. The grand opening for the now complete Portacool Park is Saturday, June 17th starting at 11am until 1pm.
