DPS Opens Driver License Office in Hemphill

September 30, 2016 - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw today was joined by local officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new DPS Driver License Office in Hemphill. The office officially opens to the public on Monday and is located inside the Sabine County Annex Building (located at 213 Market Street Hemphill, Texas 75948).

The two-person office will include DPS and county staff and is a full-service office. The Hemphill office is part of a program created after the passage of SB 1729 (83rd Session) and expanded under SB 1756 (84th Session), which authorizes DPS to enter into an agreement with a county’s commissioners court to permit county employees to provide certain services at a county office.
