April 8, 2024 - Hello, my name in Jimmy Faulkner and I’m running for Shelby County Sheriff in the upcoming runoff election on May 28, 2024.
Typically, in a runoff election, the voter turnout is considerably less. My hope is that this time it will be different. I encourage voters to pick the best candidate based only on experience, qualifications, and leadership qualities. I have 29 years in law enforcement, 13 years of management skills, I’ve been a supervisor/leader, and possess many leadership qualities such as honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
The Sheriff’s position is very important to the county and should only be trusted to someone with a background like mine. The Sheriff has many responsibilities, too many to list, but I believe the most important is the protection of lives and property within the county. Other important responsibilities are:
- Maintaining a budget of over 3 million dollars
- Leading a team of over 40 employees, which include admin, investigators, patrol deputies, jailers, dispatch
- Managing operations of the jail facility
- Overseeing wellbeing of inmates
- Employee Training
- Emergency Management Planning
My plan is to lead the Sheriff’s Department in a more positive direction, so we can work together as a team, for all of Shelby County.
So, I want to encourage everyone to do your research, ask questions, and then make your voice heard! Vote in the May 28, 2024 runoff election!
