Fausett Receives VFW Teacher of the Year Selection

November 16, 2017 - Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary are proud to announce that Center High School Teacher Jennifer Fausett has been selected as the Teacher of the Year. Jennifer is the primary instructor for Culinary Arts in the Career and Technology Education Department.

She was nominated by colleague Jeff Samford who said in part “Jennifer came to center High School 5 years ago after graduating from Stephan F. Austin State University with highest honors in Nutrition Dietetics. She is the Culinary Arts teacher but also performs many other vital function is our community. In a little over a month, Mrs. Fausett created a simulated restaurant and an actual working coffee shop in her culinary classroom that teaches excellent work ethic and business skills. She is the focal point in the Center Junior Chamber of Commerce. She established and coordinated the delivery of relief donations for hurricanes Irma and Harvey victims.”.

Jennifer will receive a framed certificate and check for $100 from our post. She now competes at the district level and the results should be known in the next 7 – 10 days. Congratulations!
