September 15, 2016 - In from of a packed crowd the 7th ranked Panola College Fillies took down #15 Tyler Junior College in straight sets, (25-19, 25-17, 25-10).
Once again offensive balance was a key for Panola, with 5 player combining for over 30 kills. Sophomore middle blocker Rachel Henderson led the charge with 8 kills on 11 swings, sophomore outsides Ana Oliveira and Victoria Baptista combined for 13 kills (7) and (6) respectively. Freshman middle blocker Barbara Sabino added 6 kills and freshman right side Kaitlyn Adams picked up 5 of her own.
Freshman setter Cayman Sutton wracked up 18 of the Fillies 33 assists with Kinly Carter adding 14. Sophomore libero Morgan Currie led the defense with 11 digs, and Victoria Baptista added 6. Rachel Henderson and Kaitlyn Adams combined for 3 total blocks and Henderson added two more solo blocks. Victoria Baptista and Barbara Sabino combined for 2 total blocks and Baptista picked up a solo of her own.
PC will return to action this weekend when they travel to Lee College to take on #15 San Jacinto College at 2pm and Lee College at 6pm Friday.
