F.L. Moffett Students, VFW Participate in Veterans Day Parade

November 15, 2018 - (Album) - F.L. Moffett kindergarten students participated in the school's annual Veteran's Day parade Friday, November 9, 2018 and members of the VFW Post 8904 and Auxiliary joined in.

The students and post members traveled the halls of the school and visited the pre-k students and teachers as they traveled.

Once the parade route was completed, the students and post members entered the cafeteria where post members took to the stage with Principal Inez Hughes.

Following the students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States and Texas Flags, Principal Hughes explained to the students Veterans Day is a day to honor veterans for their service to our country.

"These men and women on stage have made it possible for us to be free and they have made many sacrifices through their service," said Hughes.

Each of the post members introduced themselves to the students and informed them in what branch of the military they participated.

The students then sang, "God Bless America."

Principal Inez expressed appreciation to the veterans on behalf of the school and students.

"We thank you for your service. We love you and appreciate your bravery and the many sacrifices you've made for us," said Hughes.
