January 15, 2019 - A bake sale for Jonica Glaze, a senior at Tenaha ISD, is Saturday, January 19th from 12noon to 2pm in the Aiken Community at Aiken Tan and Tone, 12 miles from Center in Hwy 7 West on left just before Excelsior School.
Jonica Glaze was involved in a severe car accident Saturday, January 5th causing her to break her neck, shatter her left tibia and bruise her lungs. She is in ICU at Memorial Hospital in Nacogdoches. She has had 2 surgeries - one on her neck to straighten it and get bone off of her spinal cord that is causing her to be partially paralyzed and the other on her leg where they placed a rod with screws to hold the rod in place. All of the surgeries went as expected. Her lungs were weak and she had to have a breathing tube the first day, but now is completely breathing on her own. We are expecting her to be in ICU for 2-3 days. Jonica is doing better and making progress. She has started getting some feeling in her feet, legs, stomach and is able to lift her arms. With time and patience we are expecting a slow recovery. Every prayer is greatly appreciated and we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts!!!
