Garden Club Announces Plant Sale

April 9, 2018 - The Center Garden Club is hosting a Plant Sale on Friday, April 13th on the Courthouse Square.

The sale will be from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Nana, take me to the plant sale...please!

Many varieties of plants will be available, from old pass-along plants and your Grandmother’s old garden favorites to some of the newest and most exotic varieties on the market. Be sure to arrive early for the best selections.

Members will bring bromeliads, angel trumpet, yarrow, golden rain trees, Brazilian button flower, pink gaura, Japanese cedar shrubs, Itsaul summer raspberry plants for our area, butterfly weed for the Monarch butterfly larvae, and many other plants for hummers and butterflies.

Those of us who live in East Texas are blessed with a large variety of plants to choose from when planning the garden or landscape. Many of the native plants listed above are naturally occurring plants that have adapted to the climate, geography, and habitat of the region. They are generally hardy, are low maintenance, and easy to grow. They are adapted to the environment and do not require much attention. Many of them attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators essential to our ecosystem and offer food and shelter for our wildlife.

We welcome new members. Anyone interested in joining this great group of gardeners should come by and visit with us during this once-a-year sale.
