In God's Word by Mike Mills

November 7, 2017 - “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4)

This is my testament and the testament of all who have cried out to the Lord for salvation.

By his grace and mercy he delivers us from our fears and strengthens our souls, for once we receive his blessings of eternal life we have no reason to fear anymore.

“Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.” (Psalm 34:5)

The radiance about our person is our message to others of the goodness and joy of the Lord Jesus.

By this radiance we show our joy and how pleasant living in the Lord is each day. We shall never be ashamed of our relationship with the Lord for by his grace we are delivered from the penalties of sin. Given the inner peace of knowing his blessings are upon us at all times.

“There is therefore no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2) We shall never again be ashamed to be known by his name for the Lord Jesus has removed all blame and the penalty of sin from us and we shall rest in his arms forever.

“For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3-4)

Jesus had to come to present that perfect sacrifice to satisfy the requirement set by God for a blood sacrifice. Having to be without blemish to be deemed worthy of being given in sacrifice for sin. No ordinary man could qualify to be this perfect lamb of God, only the Son of God could carry this mantel.

And now, all who call upon the Lord with a sincere heart will be saved.

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.” (Psalm 34:6) Once one has accepted the Lord Jesus as his Lord and Master he is given the Holy Spirit to be his comforter and guide through life, forever protected from the evils of the world.

“The angel of the Lord encamps round those who fear him, and delivers them.” (Psalm 34:7)
Oh what a blessing to know that we are constantly protected by the watchful eye of the Lords angel.

“Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are towards the righteous and his ears towards their cry.” (Psalm 34:14-15)

May you find his peace today by turning away from the ways of the flesh and turning to the ways of the Spirit. Cry out to the Lord for forgiveness and he will hear you and forgive your sins.

May you find the joy and peace of living in Christ Jesus this day and receive his Holy Spirit as the free gift of salvation.
