In God's Word: But There is No God

November 2, 2017 - There are many today who say; “but there is no God, no afterlife, no heaven, there is only today in this world we see on earth, make the most of it.”

Sadly so many are being taught this fallacy by members of our education system. I find using the term “education system” so deceiving when referring to our network of colleges, our places of supposed higher learning.

America has allowed, through our own laziness, atheists and false teachers to infiltrate our universities and today our children are being led away from God by these workers of evil.

The Bible speaks of those who speak and teach lies and untruths.

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good.” (Psalm 53:1)

Let’s break down just what the Bible has said here about those who say; “There is no God.”

First, the Bible calls him a fool, one who has been tricked or deceived into acting stupidly.

Then it says not only is he corrupt, but that he is doing an abominable iniquity.

The dedication of abominable is to be; “detestable, loathsome to God”. Being despised by God is not a position a sane person would wish for.

Iniquity, “a gross injustice or wickedness”.

So this foolish, deceived person has been put in the position of doing such gross injustice and wickedness to our youth that he is now loathed, detested by God. There is not one who does good.

If our youth are to escape the trap being set for them by these workers of iniquity they must first hear the truth of the gospel to prepare them for the lies they will encounter during their time of “higher learning”.

This must start with God-fearing Christians, those willing to speak the truth to all who will listen. People who are willing to create in the young, a clean heart for the Lord.

Psalm 51 is a prayer offered to God by king David after he had seduced Bathsheba. It is a prayer which all can benefit from today, let us look at a few verses from the chapter. The entire chapter bears reading and study to completely understand how we can help our young.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin! (Psalm 51:1-2)

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you. (Psalm 51:10-13)

O Lord, let this be the prayer of all Christians, that we all return to you, renewing our faith and commitment to teaching the gospel to all who will listen. That we truly will go out into the highways and hedges and bring others into the family of God.

We should not fear that we are not preachers or evangelists, for simply by our daily interaction with others we can spread the gospel of Christ to all. Showing the joy and peace to be had in knowing and living in Christ to all.

Oh Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.” (Psalm 51:15) Allow the Lord to work his grace and mercy through you every day. This is what God wants from us, to be vessels of faith unto the world.

May the blessings of our Lord flow through each of us and flood the evil of the world with goodness each day...
