May 16, 2017 - President Helen Collard called The Golden Harvest Ministries Club to order at 11:30 am in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church in Center, Texas on May 15, and Harold Hanson led members in singing patriotic songs for celebration of Memorial Day. Mike Bordelon, Jo Warr, and Charlotte Smith celebrated May birthdays, and Betty and Vance Green, their May anniversary.
Golden Harvest Ministries Club members traveled back in time to the days of the Republic with "The Traveling Trunk" and were able to gain insight into the daily life of that time period. Maggie and Gene Casto and Gail and Nolan Sholar of the William Carroll Crawford Chapter of The Republic of Texas presented the program, and Barbara McClellan showed examples of Frontier Medicine.
