Highway 87 South of Shelbyville Scene of Two-Vehicle Crash

June 1, 2015 - Highway 87 was the scene of a two-vehicle crash south of Shelbyville Saturday, May 30, 2015.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety State Trooper Jimmy Faulkner, at 12:45pm a 2007white Dodge Nitro driven by Brandy Woodard, of Center was traveling south on State Highway 87 South with several Center High School students following her as she approached FM 147.

As Woodard neared a curve in the roadway a 2004 white Chrysler Sebring driven by Austin Wright, 18, of Center was traveling behind Woodard and collided with the back of the Nitro causing considerable damage to the Sebring. Both vehicles were able to pull out of the roadway

ACE EMS personnel responded to the scene but were refused by both drivers. No injuries were reported at the scene. Wright was issued a citation for failure to control speed and the Sebring was towed.
