On Wednesday Tenaha Independent School District hosted a college Letter of Intent signing where student-athlete Jay Lloyd signed with Trinity Valley Community College of Athens Texas. Superintendent Scott Tyner kicked off the ceremonies and spoke of fond memories he had while attending TVCC where he gained an associate’s degree before moving on to Oklahoma State University to further his education. Tyner stated, “Community College football at Trinity Valley Community College is highly competitive and it is an opportunity to develop skills to move on to bigger things.”

The signing took place at the Tenaha Tiger’s Den in the school’s Administration Building with a crowd of about 70 people made up of Faculty, friends, family and press attending.

Lloyd will be pursuing a business degree. He said, “I chose TVCC because when I went on a visit they made it feel like home. I also have a friend Trai Gardner there.”

Loyd will be looked at to help the TVCC Cardinals as a defensive back. The team went 4-5 last year overall and held a 3-4 conference mark.
