Jeans Retires After Seventeen Years with Pinkston/Roughrider Foundation

April 1, 2018 - When Becky Jeans took over the responsibilities of Treasurer from Gail Cuculic 17 years ago, the Roughrider Foundation’s financials passed into the hands of someone both knowledgeable and dedicated.

As Fred Wulf, foundation board member noted, “How do you spell detailed? Becky Jeans.”

Not only did Becky maintain the records of funds donated, she made sure acknowledgement cards were sent, as well as ordered the plaques noting scholarship level donations. The Board meets twice a year to review investments and fund growth; Becky provided detailed reports on the Foundation’s financials to insure all members were apprised of current data.

“With her knowledge and skill of accounting, Becky has been a great asset to the Foundation.” stated Lisa McAdams, board member.

Becky worked tirelessly to keep records that reflected the on-going work of the board members to grow the principal and provide scholarships via interest generated each year.

Jerry Pinkston, board member commented, “Becky’s hard work and keeping everyone focused on our mission is one of the reasons the scholarship program has been so successful.”

As Becky retires from the position of Treasurer, she will assist the new treasurer, Kelle Williams, in familiarizing herself with the responsibilities the position requires.

David Chadwick, board member, summarized for all of the board the appreciation felt for 17 years of working to support the board’s mission to provide scholarships for Center High School graduates and open doors to post-secondary educational opportunities. He shared… “Becky has given untiringly and unselfishly of her time and talent by overseeing the financial record keeping for the Catherine Davis Pinkston Rough Rider Scholarship Foundation. Her professional and passionate devotion reflects her view of the importance of the foundation and its purpose; the board will greatly miss her daily involvement. The foundation as well as past and future scholarship recipients are indebted to her for the excellent job she has done.”

Thank you, Becky Jeans, for volunteering your time to enrich the lives of the young people of Center by working to provide opportunities for future success through education!
