Joaquin High School Names Reagan STAR Student

February 10, 2015 - Joaquin High School STAR Student is sophomore Reagan Parker Hovey, son of Todd and Mary Hovey.    This young man is gifted in many areas, so much that teachers are in awed by his contrasting humble, modest demeanor.

Reagan takes the most challenging courses that JHS has to offer.  He excels at athletics and been a respected leader of his teammates.  Also, he has been chosen by the faculty and staff to be a member of the JHS Student Council.  A member of the JHS Beta Club, Reagan recently went to the state convention and earned the right to compete in the history contest at Beta’s national convention in June.

Reagan is friendly and outgoing and is extremely well liked by classmates.   He is also respectful and sensitive to others.  He has an excellent character.
Reagan has devoted himself to numerous community activities and undertakes everything with great seriousness.  He supports others, reaches out, and values those around him.

Part of the blend of all the qualities is his deep, quiet strength and self-confidence.   Reagan’s presence is unassuming, understated.   He is a polite young man—a true gentleman.

After high school, Reagan plans to attend college to pursue a degree in law.   His favorite hobby is playing sports.  Hats off to Reagan Parker Hovey, JHS STAR student!
