Joaquin High School Project Graduation 2015

June 1, 2015 - Joaquin High School Project Graduation was a huge success. Seniors attended the event which began at 11:30PM and lasted until 5:00AM. Students participated in games/contests such as, Wheel of Fortune, Basketball Throw, Volleyball, etc. Throughout the night, students munched on pizza, BBQ sandwiches, chips and dips, fruit and cookies.

Project Graduation originated in Maine in response to the deaths of twelve teenagers in related highway crashes. The idea of Project Graduation is spreading across the nation during graduation and prom night, since these are the two most deadly nights for teenagers. Project Graduation has saved lives in every community where it is held and hundreds of schools in the state of Texas host these parties.

The success of this event is in direct relation to the commitment of parents, school administration and staff, community members and businesses. These volunteers donated their time and money to provide an exciting and unforgettable evening of fun and fellowship for the graduates.

Project Graduation is a drug and alcohol free party honoring graduates. It provides a safe alternative to party hopping. It keeps graduates off the roads, prevents any of them from becoming an accident statistic, and their parents rest easy knowing their son/daughter is safely celebrating.

Some of the reasons the Joaquin High School Graduates chose to participate in Project Graduation were:
Every attending graduate received $250 plus money throughout the night.
Every attending graduate drew out of a box to win money and gift certificates from businesses.
Competitive competitions such as Twister and Basketball Throw contests were implemented throughout the night.
Provided non-stop food and music
Every attending graduate received prizes, gift certificates, and gift cards that were donated by various individuals and businesses
This is the last time all of the graduates will spend time together
