May 3, 2017 - Joaquin ISD participated in the Special Olympics Track and Field Day on April 27, 2017 at Shelbyville ISD. Our athlete achievements are as follows:
- Josh Hutto (7th grade) won Gold in the 50 meter and 100 meter races. Josh also won the Silver in the Javelin throw.
- Matthew Storm (6th grade) won Silver in the 50 meter race and Silver in the Softball throw.
- Carlie Smith won Gold in the 10m girls assisted walk.
- J Q Smith won Silver in the 10m boys assisted walk.
- Allison Smithhart won Silver in the girls wheelchair race and Silver in the tennis ball throw.
- Katie Eddins won Gold in the girls 5m assisted walk and Bronze in the tennis ball throw.
- Gracelyn Welshans won Bronze in the girls 25m race and Silver in the tennis ball throw.
