Joaquin ISD Students Participate in Piney Woods District FFA LDE Contest

November 8, 2018 - Monday, November 5th marked the annual Piney Woods District FFA Leadership Development Events (LDE) Contest. These contest highlight some of the very best skills of each FFA chapter in the district. FFA members and schools compete head to head in competitions that require a vast knowledge of the FFA and agricultural related public speaking skills. The Joaquin FFA was proudly represented in this years District event. 

Results include-
1st place - SR Creed Speaking – Abi Hooper (Advances to Area) 
3rd place – JR Creed Speaking – Addi Harvey
3rd place – JR Chapter Conducting – Jackson Thomas, Marissa Johnson, Gage Welton, Kace Sherrod, Logan Barton, Dalton Harris, Lauren Neal, and Kaylee Jo Oliver 
5th place- JR Quiz – Mariel Luna (3rd overall) Marissa Johnson (7th) Cullen Freeman(12th) and Darell Webster (31st)
Sr Quiz – Abi Hooper (21st overall), Trey Harvey, Alexis Clouse, Chandler Pritchett 
9th Place – Radio Broadcasting- Nacona Stone, Molly Mason, Mallori Belrose

We are very proud of the effort that our kids have put in this summer and fall. It has taken many hours of preparation and hard work to earn some spots on the board this year. We are looking forward to great remainder of the school year. Area LDE competition will take placed November 15th at Stephen F. Austin University.
