Ladner Named All-American Southwest Conference Player of 2015

May 6, 2015 - LeTourneau University freshman Kristen Ladner of the women’s tennis team was named All-American Southwest Conference Player of 2015 after a standout first year with the YellowJackets. The Lufkin, Texas native was named to the conference-wide singles team due to her posting an 8-7 overall mark including an 8-3 mark at women’s singles to lead the YellowJackets. Her eight wins were the most among her LETU teammates and in the conference.

Ladner was also named to the All-ASC East Division First Team Women’s Singles and the All-ASC East Division Second Team Women’s Singles No. 1 doubles along with fellow freshman Rachel Morisseau. Ladner is only the second player in program history to earn first team all-ASC honors and the fourth player in school history to earn first team all-division recognition.

Kristen is a 2014 graduate of Hudson High School, where she was a District Champion, Regional Champion and State Qualifier. Kristen is the daughter of Rodney and Carla Ladner (Hudson’s Head Tennis Coach) of Lufkin. She is the granddaughter of Carl O. and Helen Birdwell of San Augustine & Joe and Carolyn Ladner also of San Augustine.
