September 22, 2018 - A portion of a large tree fell across Nacogoches Street near Houston Street in Center on September 22, 2018 beside the old elementary school.
Center Police Officers responded with city personnel to the location at around 2:15pm. As a result of the large branch of the tree collapsing, the roadway was blocked by the tree and barricades were installed to prevent further incident.
City of Center Street Department personnel have been at the scene since that time, during whihc SWEPCO has been on scene and worked on some of their lines that were damaged when the tree fell.
As of 6:26pm, some of the cleanup project has been delayed with AT&T still en-route to attend to a line which is across the roadway.
Charles Barr, Precinct 3 Commissioner, will eventually have a work crew on scene to attend to branches that fell onto the roof of the elementary school.
