Mansfield State Historic Site Hosts Be a Civil War Soldier: Kid’s Camp

September 2, 2016 - Have you ever wanted to be a Civil War soldier?  Are you between 9-12 years old?  On Saturday 24th, in connection with National Public Lands Day, Mansfield State Historic Site is hosting an “immersive” event that will allow you to experience what many of the soldiers of the American Civil War did.  Be enlisted, set up your camp, drill, enjoy a period type lunch, and more!  There are 15 slots available for this program and pre-registration is required.  Registration is $25 (paid on day of program) for each child, which includes the meal.  The last day for Pre-Registration is September 17th.  To Register or for more information, call the park at 318.872.1474.
