M.P. Baker Library to host Through These Eyes of Mine

December 13, 2017 - An Art Exhibit by Katy Chance

The M.P. Baker Library at Panola College will host an exhibit by local artist, Katy Chance. The exhibit titled, “Through These Eyes of Mine” will be displayed in the Fay Allison Gallery from January 8, 2018 through February 23, 2018. In addition, an opening reception will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 3pm in the M.P. Baker Library foyer.

Katy Chance is the Residence Life Coordinator/Head Residence Hall Supervisor at Panola College. Chance earned an associate degree from Panola College and her BFA at Northwestern State University.

“People say that art is an expression of one’s self, a way to relate to the masses, that we reveal a piece of ourselves without realizing it. I believe that we wake up new every day. I will never paint with the same hands as I did the day before,” stated Katy Chance, when asked about her artwork. “All I can do is hope that I have done more with this God given gift than paint a pretty picture or create an object that might sell.”

The exhibit is free and open to the public during the Library’s operating hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am - 9pm, Friday 7:30am – 12:30pm, and Sunday 4pm – 9pm.
