Nacogdoches Nine Flags Christmas Parade Cancelled

December 2, 2016 - NAUW officials have cancelled the 2016 Nine Flags Christmas Parade due to the likelihood of severe weather conditions. The Nation Weather Center out of Shreveport' National Weather Center forecast predicts that we should expect 6 to 8 inches of rain with severe down pours. NAUW officials made this decision after confirming with the Nacogdoches Police, Fire Department and City Officials who were equally concerned about tomorrow's expected conditions.

Alternative plans are to stage a Nacogdoches Christmas celebration with Santa on the Square and fireworks for all to enjoy so please pay attention to the Parade Facebook page for more details.

NAUW President and CEO Gary Lee Ashcraft expressed sincere appreciation to all of the participants who have worked hard to build floats, arrange for bands and various clubs to participate in the parade. He especially praised the leadership of the Christmas Parade team including Maury Smith - Littleton, Caroline Garner and Alexis Guthery as well as the Eaton Corporation who is the signature sponsor of the parade.
