May 2, 2017 - The Panola College Shelby College Center vocational nursing department traveled to Carthage to participate in an emergency services training drill on Friday, April 28th. The drill was organized by East Texas Medical Center and allowed area emergency agencies to practice treating mass injuries through a staged bus crash.
Nursing instructors, Brooke Cox and Karen Noble, along with their students acted as injured parties with some having multiple injuries, some that just needed first aid and others that required ambulance transport. “Our students were excited to participate and it was a great learning experience for our students to see how these situations would be handled in an actual emergency,” said Brooke Cox.
