Panola College Volleyball Remains Unbeaten in Conference Play

September 26, 2016 - The 6th-ranked Panola College Volleyball team took down Trinity Valley Community College Saturday afternoon in 4 sets (25-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-18) to complete a clean sweep of round one in conference play and improve to 15-2 overall.

The Fillies were led by sophomore outside hitter Ana Oliveira who picked up another double-double on the season with 16 kills and 14 digs. Freshman right side Jaqueline da Silva racked up 13 kills, sophomore middle blocker Rachel Henderson picked up 9 kills, while sophomore outside Victoria Baptista and freshman middle blocker Barbara Sabino added 8 apiece. The freshmen setting duo of Kinly Carter and Cayman Sutton combined for 48 total assists (25) and (23) respectively.

Defensively, sophomore libero Morgan Currie
​led the way with 16 digs, Victoria Baptista picked up 9, and freshman defensive specialist Camie Copeland added 6. Barbara Sabino was a dominant force at the net where she assisted on 7 blocks and added 2 more solo blocks.

Panola College returns to action Tuesday night in AJ Gym against Region XIV- South rival, Blinn College. First serve is scheduled for 6pm.
