Panola Rodeo Team Travels to Wharton for the Final Rodeo of the Year

April 19, 2017 - The Panola College Rodeo team will travel to Wharton County Jr. College for the final rodeo of the year for the 10 rodeo circuit of the Southern Region.

Freshman, Logan Cook, of Alto, TX has been riding high all circuit long and has solidified a spot in the Collegiate National Finals Rodeo to be held in June in Casper, Wyoming. With the top three qualifying in each event for the CNFR, Cook currently sits second in the saddle bronc competition with a comfortable lead over 3rd and 4th positions going into the last rodeo. Logan has also climbed in the ranks sitting 3rd in the Men's All Around. Sitting 2nd in saddle bronc and 7th in team roping, plus the all around hand has place and got points this year in calf roping as well as steer wrestling.

Teammates Abby Phillips and Taylor Gooch are sitting in the 4th spots in barrel racing and goat tying and are looking for a great weekend at Wharton in order to qualify for their first CNFR.

Good luck to each cowboy/cowgirl this weekend in Wharton!
