Phil Calvert Running for Center ISD School Board (Pd Adv)

October 31, 2022 - Phil Calvert is a candidate for a seat on the Center Independent School District Board. I have reason to believe that Phil Calvert would be a VALUABLE asset on the School Board where he can utilize his unique abilities to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.

Here’s some highlights about Phil:

I have known Phil since 1993 when he first came to Center as the Plant Manager for the newly formed Cooling Division of General Shelters. This later became what is today Portacool, LLC. Working with Phil we designed the first Portacool units and received patents on the innovative capabilities of the Portacool products.

As the Cooling Division continued to grow, we introduced more innovative designs and ended up with 12 patents on unique products and improvements that caused the company to end up on the INC 500 list of fastest growing companies in the country for 3 consecutive years.

Phil is well educated with 3 college degrees and experience as an Adjunct Professor of Aeronautics for Embry Riddle University. Phil also taught Advanced Computer Programming and Microprocessor Design at Eastfield College in Dallas.

Phil is a Marine Corp Veteran serving 1965 to 1975 (4 years Active Duty, 6 years Active Reserve) as Helicopter Crew Chief, served in Vietnam and received 2 Air Medals for Combat Valor. He also worked for the NSA for 3 years in Harrogate, UK with a TSSI (Top Secret Special Intelligence) Clearance. In addition, he was on the Provincial Reconstruction Team as an Industrial Advisor in Iraq for the US State Department with a Top-Secret Clearance.

Phil is a licensed Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor and an award-winning Design Engineer.

His capabilities and experiences will provide valuable insight, guidance and leadership to the 2,200 students as a member on the CISD School Board.

I wholeheartedly endorse Phil Calvert for a position on the CISD School Board and hope you will vote for him.
